Presscart API: Build PR Services on 1,500+ Publishers

Edgar Li
Presscart API — now public. Media placements, via API.

Today we’re launching the Presscart API. Every capability in our dashboard is now yours to build for yourself, so your customers can:

  1. Browse and filter 1,500+ vetted publishers
  2. Launch offsite content campaigns
  3. Request editorial-studio articles so you don’t have to hire writers
  4. Get compliance and editorial review on every submission
  5. Submit articles to publishers
  6. Get notified the moment a live link goes up
  7. Track every campaign in a full client dashboard

Presscart’s inventory, editorial team, and delivery guarantee now sit behind a single API. The moat is no longer who builds the software, it’s who gets the work done.

Who the API is for

Agency teams: Your SEO, AEO, content, and performance marketing clients need offsite content for their results to scale. The margins don’t work on a traditional PR engagement, and pitching adds an ops load you don’t want. The API drops guaranteed-delivery placements directly into the stack you already run: same clients, same retainers, one new line of predictable output every month.

Builders: You’ve watched AI compress the SaaS moat and decided the business worth building now is an AI-native service business. You want to lead a next-gen PR company, but negotiating with publishers, hiring an editorial team, running compliance, producing content, and managing CX is a non-starter. The API gives you the inventory and the delivery layer on day one, so you can focus on what drives revenue: distribution, relationships, and how you package the product.

What people are already building

Agency partners are running white-label PR platforms on top of Presscart with their own branding, their own pricing, and their own client portals. One developer built a full Python SDK before we’d even announced the API publicly. We’ve adopted it as an officially supported library and kept it open to community contributions.

Early use cases:

  • White-label marketplaces for agencies that want a Presscart-free client experience
  • Automated placement triggers tied to funding announcements, product launches, or CRM events
  • AI agent workflows where an LLM drafts the article, picks the outlets, and submits, end-to-end
  • Internal tooling inside marketing and PR teams that already run their own campaign systems

How it works

Authentication is token-based and scoped to your Presscart account. Generate a key in Settings → API Tokens and you’re calling endpoints in under a minute.

The surface area at launch:

  • /outlets: the publication catalog, with filters and real-time pricing
  • /products: product listings with full filtering and sort
  • /campaigns: create, update, and manage campaigns
  • /orders: place orders, attach content, track status through publication
  • /files: upload images and supporting assets, reuse them across orders

Webhooks fire on every order status change, so your system reacts the moment an article moves through publishing, revision, or placement. No polling, no CX escalations.

Getting started

  1. Log into your Presscart account at app.presscart.com
  2. Go to Settings → API Tokens and generate a key
  3. Read the docs at docs.presscart.com
  4. Or use the community-maintained Python SDK, with install instructions in the docs

If you have a Presscart account then you have API access. There’s no waitlist, no sales call, no “contact us for enterprise pricing.”

If you’re building something on top of Presscart and want to talk through a more integrated partnership, reach out to tyler@presscart.com.
