Ask your assistant. It checks Presscart for you.

Connect Claude, Claude Code or Codex to your account and ask it to find publications, check an order or catch up on comments. Purchases and approvals stay in the app. For your own code, there is a public REST API.

Set it up

You need a Presscart account first. The steps are the same in Claude on the web and in Claude Desktop.

Connect Claude in three steps

  1. Step 1: In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.

  2. Step 2: Choose Add custom connector and paste this address.

    https://mcp.presscart.com/mcp
  3. Step 3: Sign in to Presscart if asked, then approve access. There is no API token to create or paste.

Using Claude Code or Codex?

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http presscart https://mcp.presscart.com/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code and sign in to Presscart in your browser.

Codex

codex mcp add presscart --url https://mcp.presscart.com/mcp

Your browser opens to sign in to Presscart. If it does not, run codex mcp login presscart.

Your assistant only sees what your Presscart role can see in this team. You can disconnect anytime from your assistant's connector settings.

Full setup, troubleshooting and the list of what the server can do are in the MCP server docs.

What your assistant can do once it's connected

Find publications without opening a tab

Ask for business press, regional outlets or trade journals and your assistant pulls them from the marketplace, with the price shown on each listing. It can recommend placements based on your account. You still pick, and you still check out in the app.

Check orders and article status

Ask where an order stands or whether an article has gone live and get a plain answer, with a link back to the right place in Presscart when something needs your review.

Catch up on comments

See which article comments are waiting for your reply across every campaign. Approving a brief or a draft still happens in the app, on purpose, so nothing is published without you.

What the connection does not do

Better to know the limits before you connect than to find them after.

It does not buy for you

The assistant can recommend placements. Checkout happens in the Presscart app or through the REST API, so every purchase is a decision you made.

Approvals stay with you

Briefs, drafts and publisher decisions are reviewed in Presscart. The assistant links you to the right place; it does not approve on your behalf.

It sees what your role sees

Presscart checks your account's permissions on every request. You can disconnect from your assistant's settings at any time.

Transparently, your assistant's provider sees what it reads

Whatever the assistant retrieves from Presscart goes to that assistant's provider to answer you, under the provider's own privacy policy. Presscart logs the requests, not your conversation.

How the connection handles your data is in our privacy policy.

Build on the API

The same account, from your own code. Ordering happens here, not through the assistant.

REST API

Browse outlets and products, create checkout orders, manage campaigns and articles, and upload files to your media library from your own code. Bearer-token auth, with examples in curl, JavaScript and Python.

Webhooks

Get an event when an article changes status or a comment is created, so your own tools stay in sync without polling.

Agencies embedding placements in their own product: start with the API, and talk to sales if you need more than the public docs cover.

Questions about connecting

Short answers here. The docs have the long ones.

Do I need an API token to connect my assistant?

No. The MCP server uses your Presscart sign-in: you approve access in the browser once and the connection is live. API tokens are only for the REST API, and you create them in the app under API Keys.

Can my assistant place an order for me?

No. The assistant can find publications and recommend placements, but checkout happens in the Presscart app or through the REST API. Every purchase stays a decision you made yourself.

Which assistants work with Presscart?

Claude, Claude Code and Codex have step-by-step setup in the docs. Any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth can connect with the same address.

What can the assistant see?

Only what your Presscart role can see in the teams you belong to: teams, profiles, campaigns, orders, articles, comments and files. Presscart checks your permissions on every request, and the assistant's provider handles what it reads under its own privacy policy.

Is the MCP connection the same as the API?

No. The MCP connection is for AI assistants and uses your sign-in. The REST API is for your own code and uses bearer tokens. Both work on the same account.

How do I disconnect?

Remove the connector from your assistant's settings. To revoke access from Presscart's side, email support@presscart.com.
